Thanks for the reply.  The adau17x1 branch unfortunately is based on the 3.10+ kernel.  I am using the 3.2.26 kernel.  My kernel already has support for the  adau1373 and adau1701.  This is why I'm asking if these drivers could be easily modified to support the basic functionality of the adau1961.
