We will certify the ADE7912 for IEC61010-1 3rd edition. The product was submitted and we are waiting for its certification.
The product will be certified for Basic insulation, 300 Vrms maximum working voltage. Note the data sheet shows it now as 400V maximum working voltage (Table 2, page 7).
The reason is this:
The table K.9 from the standard provides the minimum distance L between the conductors located between the same two layers moulded together (section K.1.3.2). In the case of the ADE7912, this distance is 0.4mm. This means from table K.9 that the line to neutral voltage must be lower than 300V rms. 400V rms voltages require L=0.6mm and the chip has only 0.4 mm.
Regarding the number of internal isolation layers: there are two separate isolation layers.
I have only the insulation rating of the dielectric used for the microtransformer that is used to transmit the digital data: 800 V/um.
I do not have yet the rating for the microtransformer used in the dc to dc converter.
