Re: Using AD9122 to generate a complex modulated signal at, say, 300 MHz center frequency

Hi,

So, it looks like I can probably do what I want with the AD9122, taking its outputs to create modulated signals at any frequency up to 400 MHz, and then use the combination of the AD9122 and ADL5375, to create modulated signals at any frequency from 400 MHz to 6 GHz. (Or, the Hittite HMC1097 to generate frequencies from 100 MHz to 6 GHz, which might allow for the use of a somewhat cheaper TxDAC.)

Now, as far as prototyping and testing, I see where there is an AD9122-eval board available. I see there is also an eval board for the ADL5375. But, as far as driving them, it looks like the correct board is the HSC-DAC-DPG-BZ. Is this correct? I can't seem to find any for sale. Are they still available? If so, from where and at what price?

Also, however, I see there is an eval board that contains both the AD9122 and the ADL5375. I suspect I would need both the AD9122 eval board and the AD9122-M5375-EBZ boards to fully evaluate both the 9122 outputs up to 400 MHz and then the combined output above 400 MHz. But, the web site is not clear to me what is needed to drive these boards. I see an AD-DAC-FMC as well as an FMCOMMS1-EBZ. Which one, if either, is required? Finally, I need a Xilinx FPGA to run the supplied test software and to develop software. Is something like the ZC706 the appropriate choice? I realize that is probably overkill. I believe there is software on the Analog site for use with a Xilinx board to test the AD9122 and/or AD9122-m5375-ebz, but I am not sure. I don't want to buy any more than is really needed, but I also want to be sure that I get a set of demo-eval boards that will do the job. As far as the Xilinx board, I would rather err on the side of buying something that is more capable than I need at the moment because I may have other uses for it with other similar Analog Devices parts in the near future.
