Hi Gary,
This question bounced to me through central apps, but I will answer it here in hopes that a publicly available answer may be able to help more people in the future.
Excerpt from your central apps submission:
"The user guide says save the profile using the Excel profile designer spreadsheet. Excel saves this as .xls format by default. AD9548 Software only accepts files with .psu format. I renamed the .xls file to .psu -- and the AD9548 software did not like this file format. The software aborted with an error (something like: read past end of file error). To get past this problem, I went back to Excel and saved as tab-delimited text file. Excel saves as .txt format. I relabelled the file as .psu format."
The profile designer has a built in macro that is used to generate the .psu file. You must have macros enabled in the workbook to use it. There is a "save" tab at the bottom of the workbook. Please click this tab to view the .psu saving interface
You can then use the drop down tab to select the profile you would like to save the setup file as and you can use the file description text box to annotate the to be generated .psu with details of the setup. This is wise to do because the .psu essentially consists of register data otherwise and it is hard to distinguish files without annotating them.
After you do this, click the "Save Profile File" button to execute the save macro and navigate to the directory displayed at the bottom of the tab to locate the .psu file. This should be the default directory of the load .psu file dialog window embedded in the AD9548 software.
Regards,
Neil
