Hi,
For direct mode usage of AD9914, can we use async Function & 32 bit data to program DDS's FTW,AMP or POW output?
OR
Do we have a constraint to use DDS in the direct mode only with synchroneous clocking (by using DDS's SYNC_CLK)?
Info:
Datasheet's "Setup Time To SYNC_CLK" AC Specs says that Func & 32 bit data bits have to be settled 2 ns before the SYNC_CLK.
With this info, i come to a conclusion that,we have a constraint to use DDS in the direct mode only with synchroneous clocking (by using DDS's SYNC_CLK)?
Where,
there is no other exact information at the datasheet, which was there is a constraint like that.
So, in order to be sure i am going to make some experiments with my AD9914 Ev.Board.
Sure,
I don't have a proper test setup.
Most probably, i am going to use pulse generator, etc.
If you know the answer of my new question it will be a nice plus for me.
Do we have a constraint to use DDS in the direct mode only with synchroneous clocking (by using DDS's SYNC_CLK)?
Cause, if we use async clk, then at many moments we will violate the 2 ns "Setup Time To SYNC_CLK" AC Specs. And i guess that this will result with unwanted FTW, AMP & POW values.
